Susan Bennett is a versatile and engaging performer. Her wry humor, moving honesty, and electrifying stage presence have made her an audience favorite, whether performing her own one-woman shows, stand-up comedy, or appearing in various roles for stage and screen.
Susan received undergraduate training in acting from the University of Southern California, before earning her bachelor’s in Theatre from Indiana University. Following time off to raise her family, she began crafting her first solo show. The result was I Said NO! which debuted at Indy Fringe 2013 to positive reviews. Since then, the show has toured extensively, resonating with audiences through Susan’s vivid, candid confession of rejection, failure, and forgiveness.
She followed this in 2014 with the nostalgic Simply Complicated, a fond look at a time gone by, and life’s simple complications. Then in 2016 Susan returned to Indy Fringe with The Juniper Tree (written by Timothy Taylor) a moving portrait of three generations of one Jewish-American family set in 1968 Indianapolis.
Around Indianapolis Susan is a regular in the stand up comedy scene. She has performed with local theater companies, appeared in film and lent her voice for radio and advertising.
